Whether you’re a B2B agency or a company that deals B2C, there is always a reason to be present on LinkedIn. February 2015 it was calculated that 347 million users were active on the professional platform. With this many users, it is definitely a useful tool to help you expose and promote your brand.

Recently LinkedIn have released a few apps that give you a better chance to experience the platform and use it to your advantage.

LinkedIn Pulse – Is a news app tailored to you. It allows a tailored your news feed experience, explore professional content efficiently and share your stories on the social network.

LinkedIn Job Search – is an app that quickly finds job opportunities depending on your preferred location.

Sales Navigator – keeps up with your accounts and leads with LinkedIn. This enables you to find and view people for key insights and common connections, get updates on you leads and accounts and even send messages. It’s not always easy to stay up to date from the places you’re working from.

Publishing Platform – Early last year, LinkedIn released a new feature which allows users to essentially publish articles and blogs. LinkedIn have now reached over one million posts and is facing massive expansion across all english-speaking countries. This has resulted in 230 million people being able to publish on the professional platform.

LinkedIn do not just have an aim to increase the visibility of each user by giving them the freedom to post their work, but also to increase traffic to their social platform. LinkedIn look to implement techniques and new features to allow users to have a reason to return to their website often with purpose. This leads to repetitive visits and produces an increased amount of traffic. They also look for factors that lead a user towards one of their apps or extended services such as Pulse.

I have come up with 4 great ways of increasing your leads for your business on LinkedIn:

  1. Publish A Post – This allows you to publish blogs and articles publicly. It allows you to talk about something you know about and is a professional backing to your LinkedIn profile. It allows you to portray your knowledge of the subject and industry of your profession.
  2. Post LinkedIn Company Status Updates –  Post updates during the times you will get the most impressions on LinkedIn. There are specific times of the day when people will tune in to your updates. An efficient way of posting and having a beneficial personalised experience is by using LinkedIn Pulse.
  3. Discuss In Groups – Many people aren’t aware thats you can build a business around groups on LinkedIn. Many groups contain masses of highly-targeted business decision makers for your industry. The more you offer your expertise in topics, the more people will get to know who you are and what you have to offer.
  4. Personal Message – One of the most common mistakes made on LinkedIn is to assume that your profile will do all the heavy lifting. In fact, that is never the case. You have to show that you are proactive and reach out to your connections.
