What do you enjoy about being a Front-End Developer?
“I really enjoy both the technical and creative aspects of it, and working with creative people to bring their designs to life. I get a real kick out of building websites that are aesthetically exciting and a pleasure to use.”
How has your time been at Verb so far?
“It’s been great – they are a really young and energetic team and it’s exciting to be a part of.”
What inspired you to take the path towards becoming a developer?
“I’ve always been interested in computers, but for a long time I fought my natural geeky instincts, until I decided to give in and take evening classes at Birkbeck. I found I had a knack for it and I really enjoyed it, and I’ve been obsessed with keeping up with the latest technologies ever since!”
Whats the most difficult part of your job?
“Building responsively can be a challenge – building websites so they work in all different devices. It’s not just the layout that’s different, but the way people use the internet is different on desktops compared to tablets. For me, providing a perfect user experience across all devices is key and therefore at Verb we’re always learning and tweaking our offering dependent upon digital trends and new device releases, the release of the iPhone 6 + was fun !”
What’s Your All Time Favourite Video Game/s?
“I loved the Grand Theft Auto series, especially San Andreas. The world was huge and beautiful, and I got to pretend to be much tougher than I actually am!”
What are your hobbies?
“Outside of web development, I’m really into music and I play guitar when I have some free time.”
If you were to be deserted on an island, what would be the three essentials you will take with you and why
“Definitely my guitar, my Macbook Pro and an internet connection!”
Tell us something Verb do not already know about you?
“I was once burgled by monkeys in India – they came in through my hotel window and started going through my luggage! I found a chair and scared them off by waving it in their direction. I kept my windows shut after that!”
